Jack Kennon Jr beats the odds

In 2015, Young Jack Kennon Jr. was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of childhood cancer that most commonly affects young people between the ages of 10 and 20 years old. Unfortunately, the survival rate for Ewing Sarcoma is significantly lower than other forms cancer. You can imagine the pain and fear that the Kennon family experienced after learning of Jack's diagnosis.

In October we found out about Jack's fight and wanted to help. So in November, we partnered with photographer Dave "Nelly" Nelson and Surftech Santa Cruz to host a fundraiser for Jack. Nelly donated some of his incredible artwork and Surftech Santa Cruz donated a surfboard for the raffle. When the night was over we had raised nearly $4,000 for Jack!

Fast forward to April 12, 2016 and Jack Kennon Jr is no longer afflicted with Ewing Sarcoma of any other form of cancer. Jack is CANCER FREE!!

The Jay Moriarity Foundation would like to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraiser on November 6, 2015 as well as the Billabong Surfshop fundraiser the month before! Congratulations Jack on beating cancer! We can't wait to get out in the water with you!
